So, I’ve been missing for a while. Not unconciously, I have to say. It was unplanned, but I wasnt planning to be back this soon either. But il talk about that another time.
Right now, I’ve been mulling over something and perhaps you can help me out.
See these words below. You all know what they mean right? Well, most of you should:
Charisma
Character
Temperament
Composure
Approach
Tone
I know what they mean, I really do. But I have such a hard time explaining why these characteristics are so important to have as an adult. They are admirable, almost a must for me.
It all makes logical sense in my mind, but explaining this logically to anyone, is what makes my mouth run dry. If anything, my best explanation would be that, it creates harmony.
You would swear I’ve never touched the mesmerising topic of psychology.. but I have. Im just rather pathetic with words.
So if you could help me explain THE significance of having these qualities spot on, please go ahead and enlighten my wordless mind. I know you’re all such geniuses :)
I promise to be back and update you on whats been happening in my life.
*Edit: Let me rather say, the better side of the above words. i.e good composure, great character, etc.

NK - The way I see it, take character out of the list... because all the other descriptions are what make up someones character... does that make sense?
ReplyDeleteIt's important to have Charisma, Good Temperament, Composure, a good approach, and a good tone because essentially, these traits are what establish a person's demeanor.. his/her "ways", which defines their characters...
Thats just the way I see it anyway :)
awaiting updates!
ReplyDeleteAzra: yes you're right.. I typed that all in one go and never re-read. yes Character sums them all up. but theres no logical explanation as to why anyone has to have these good qualities. Ppl can be what they wana be and if they dont see why they "have to" approach things a certain way, no-one can force them, esp when they're doing no harm. "Ways" matter, they do. but sometimes explaining why is difficult. I wish i could make ppl see the need.
ReplyDeleteSome learn from those around them, some dont. Some consciously, and some naturally, and some dont believe in it at all.
I guess i have some difficulty tolerating bad demeanour, no matter how small. It almost spells immaturity.
AD: il be back.. dont worry ;)
As a Muslim we will find that those characteristics or traits (and more) are what defines our Nabi (SAW). It's all-encompassing.
ReplyDeleteI encourage everyone (Muslim or not) to read up on our beloved Prophet Muhammad SAW - his character, his beauty, his strengths - he is the perfect human if I can say that (whether you choose to believe in Islam or not), there we will all find the answers, or the reason's NK is looking for.
But please be mindful to make use of TRUTHFUL, AUTHENTIC and GENUINE written works, as there are many many fictional stories and books out there which are misleading to many wanting to know more about Islam.
The significance of those qualities NK is that it takes us a step closer to the Ultimate Being. It humbles us to the way the Almighty Allah has commanded each and everyone one of us to be, become, or strive towards.
You don't need to make people see they have to behave a certain way. What is of utmost importance is that your behaviour reflects your belief (or continually strive towards it). Who you are, what you do, what and how you say, when you say, to whom you say should be your character as described, people should be able to say: wow, what an impression she(he) made on me... I'd like to be like that.
just my few cents... hope it aids your thoughts...
